Aaliyah’s beautiful recount about her Museum Trip!

On Friday we went to the Auckland war museum and had so much fun!
First, we grouped up and got on the bus. Our group parent was my friend Ari’s mum. We sat in the back and waited for the bus to take off, but suddenly we watched Room 8 come into the bus and then we left.
Next, we arrived at the museum and were kindly greeted by a lady named Sara. She said that we would be having a look around for a little while, so we went into the war gallery and saw all types of things, we saw warplanes from England and badges that were all sorts of colours. then we would need to go to the Imaginarium to do some things about volcanoes. Those things were sorting the rocks that come from volcanoes like Obsidian, Pumice, Basalt and a little more. We also talked about what clothes to wear and what you should and shouldn’t pack inside your evacuation bag.
Then, we went to our meet-up spot to get our lunch we were going to eat inside, but Ari’s mum asked if we wanted to go outside so that after we were finished eating we could play. We all said yes and ate our school lunch. My friend Skylar ate pizza bread, The rest of my friends ate bacon and egg sandwiches, and I ate a chicken roll. When we cleaned our mess we drank a little bit of juice and then went inside to finish our sheet that our teacher gave us. We did the questions about Maori culture first, then we did animals and insects and we saw a big elephant called Rajah. I wish I could pet it but it was only the last we did volcanoes. We did all of the questions about volcanoes and then we played a game where we packed a bag full of useful things and put on clothes that can protect us and get the grandma’s cat.
After we finished our sheet we went inside the volcano room and watched the video when suddenly the lights started flickering and then bang! went to the floor and shaking began and again went bang! 3 more times and suddenly it all stopped and then we went outside of the volcano room because the bus was here and we were the last group outside.
Finally, we lined up in our class lines and got into the bus. We were excited because we were in the back seat. I was happy but I was also tired and before I knew it I dozed off like a baby when it just wakes up. When I woke up I got my water bottle and went into my class and fell asleep on the floor.
I really liked the day I had. I was happy with my friends and shocked by all the amazing things I had learned at the museum and now I only have one more thing to say, I want to go to the museum again!
